Michael H. Davis

Michael H. "Mike" Davis is a cybersecurity, risk management, and systems engineering executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience across the military, federal government, defense, and commercial sectors. As Chairman of Christians4Cyber, Mike helps guide the organization's mission of making practical, effective cybersecurity education and assistance accessible to small and medium-sized businesses and organizations that may not have large security staffs or budgets.

Throughout his career, Mike has focused on translating complex cybersecurity challenges into practical, risk-based solutions. His experience includes cybersecurity strategy and operations, enterprise risk management, Zero Trust, secure systems engineering, cloud security, regulatory compliance, privacy, and emerging areas of AI and non-human identity security.

Systems Engineering & Leadership Background

Mike's systems engineering background includes responsibility for large, mission-critical environments. He helped oversee the end-to-end security of the U.S. Navy's NMCI network, supporting more than 500,000 users across 600+ locations. He has led geographically distributed teams of up to 120 personnel and managed programs and budgets exceeding $150 million.

More recently, Mike has served as a virtual Chief Information Security Officer (vCISO) and executive cybersecurity and risk advisor, helping organizations strengthen security while balancing risk, cost, business priorities, and regulatory requirements. His work includes applying frameworks and requirements such as NIST CSF, CIS Critical Security Controls, SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA, as well as advancing practical approaches to AI security, identity and access management, privacy, and Zero Trust.

Education & Credentials

Mike holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and an M.A. in Management from the University of Redlands, both with honors. His credentials include:

  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
